Bid Adieu, 2013!
It wasn’t that long ago I was hanging up my entrepreneurial and independent consulting hats to start a new career with Gannett, and become Your Digital Angel. Shortly thereafter, I was honored with awards from California State Senate and Assembly, Tulare County Board of Supervisors, and Latinas in Business Association for being a leading Latina in Technology.
After spending an unforgettable evening with over 150 community business leaders, the following morning I was hooded and graduated with my Executive MBA from Fresno State. Talk about a wild 48 hour ride!
A few weeks later, the Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber of Commerce presented me with an award for being their Ambassador of the Month. At that luncheon, I announced I had received a promotion and would be moving to Phoenix to pursue my passion for digital. My move to Arizona has been more than I imagined and extremely rewarding.
These were the most bodacious 6 months of my life, which has turned into a truly epic year. As excited as I am for all that lies ahead in 2014, I tear up with joy when reflecting on all the amazing people, memories, challenges and successes of 2013. I’m beyond thankful and grateful for such life-changing and distinguishing opportunities.
We have to remember that when we do the unusual, the extraordinary happens. Businesses and individuals who are happy with the status quo remain stagnant and expect greatness to fall in their lap. While the successful are those that don’t stand still. They seek progress, change and improvement.
We’re only a few weeks away from the big ‘14, and it’s time to start ramping up for abundance in the coming year. We all have a place in life where we need to be, and in order to fulfill that destiny it’s time to get off the line of scrimmage and start charging the end zone.
Those who operate above the rift are growing and prospering at an exponential rate. You should be excited for the coming year and expect miracles to happen. Celebrating other people’s successes along the way will open yourself up to experience your own marvels.
Wishing all of you the very best in the New Year, because that’s all you deserve. I will certainly miss this monumental year, but on and up we go. Bid adieau, 2013!
