Bloom Where You Are Planted

An important part of never giving up is making the right choices while you are discouraged, frustrated, confused, or under pressure.  When we’re in the middle of unnerving stress, we naturally want to take the path of least resistance, and the right choice is often the harder choice.  These are the times you need to discipline yourself to make the laborious decision, even when you don’t feel like it.

Without the willingness to sacrifice and push through obstacles and adversities that stand in your way, you will never get where you want to be in life.  A negative thinker sees the difficulty in every opportunity, and a positive thinker sees the opportunity in every difficulty.  When you feel pressure pressing against you, you have to press back even if you’re weary, exhausted, or discouraged.  Don’t give any place to negativity and don’t give up.

I know what it’s like to be defeated and go through difficult seasons in life.  Yet in my weakest of moments, I didn’t lose my identity to my circumstances.  Some days I want to throw in the towel, but I look to my future and remind myself of what I want and immediately change my focus.  We have to retrain the brain to care more about what’s forthcoming than we do about right now.

Whatever you may be going through, you’re the only one who can press through it and change your mindset.  No one else can do that for you.  We all have challenges and problems, some bigger than others, and there’s nothing wrong with that.  It’s times like this where you need to dig your heels in, just like a flower embeds their roots deep in the ground, and bloom where you are planted.

You need, hope, joy, encouragement and sometimes restoration to have enough boldness and determination to overcome the overwhelming situations you encounter. One positive thought can change your day, and one positive day and change the atmosphere of your life.

Live with ridiculous optimism and don’t stop short of finishing the race, because victory is just around the corner.  It’s up to you to choose what kind of pain you want – the pain of pressing through or the pain of giving up.  Just know that only the pain of pressing through brings reward.
