Do You Know What Your Business’s Reputation is Online? Part 1 of 2

Do you know what your business’s reputation is online?   Businesses routinely ask their clients to fill out “How Are We Doing” evaluations without much success.  Ever think that your customers are freely sharing their thoughts, complaints, and praises on social networks and local review websites?  Well guess what?  They are.

It pays to stay on top of what your customers are saying about you, so why not listen?  As a digital marketing specialist, I’ve always preached that a negative review can turn a critic into a raving fan, and a positive comment can be highlighted and shared with your customers and prospects.

Have you ever made a comment – good or bad – about a product, service, or business and never received a response?  I think that’s a big YES!  How annoyed did you feel when no one responded?  Pretty annoyed, right?  Re-channel those feelings into those of your customer base … the way that made you feel is the way your customers feel when you don’t respond to their comments and reviews.

Reputation management is a powerful digital tool that monitors every source that people talk about you online.  These sources include websites, blogs, social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare), and local review websites (Citysearch, Yelp, Yahoo! Local, and a boatload more).  If you’re not monitoring what people are saying about you online, how are you supposed to know what they’re saying?

I realize you don’t have time to learn all the moving parts of the digital world and I know how scary it can be.  The time you have needs to be spent doing what you do best – running your business.  Have no fear … Your Digital Angel is here.  My team of local experts and I know how overwhelming the digital world can be, and we are here to take the worry and grunt work out of your digital daily grind.  Now is the time to ensure your business survives in the digital era. If not you, then who? If not now, then when?  Stay tuned for more digital education in Part 2 of this series.  I look forward to helping you manage your business’s reputation online.
