Note to reader: The original idea of this article was to spotlight Angel Soria’s start-up consulting business, Angel Soria Internet Marketing. However, along the way, the feature took a twist after a door opened and her life changed directions.

The Law of Attraction is a powerful force, especially when combined with a Chamber membership.  Social media sensation, Angel Soria, can attest to this firsthand after landing a new career with Times-Delta Media Group (TDMG), as the Fortune 500 Company’s local Digital Marketing Specialist.  Facilitating the panel discussion for the Chamber’s “Grow Your Business Using Social Media” seminar opened the door to this new position, created expressly for her digital talents and expertise.

With a Master’s in Business Administration from California State University, Fresno and an impressive portfolio of consulting experience, Angel resigned as an independent consultant and began her new role with TDMG, a Gannett company.  Due to Gannett‘s powerful network of digital, mobile, publishing and broadcasting properties, their reach is simply unprecedented, making this move a very big deal and perfect fit for Angel.

“My new job allows me to continue doing what I’m passionate about without skipping a beat – helping businesses succeed online and providing content to consumers in a digital society that invites, engages, and inspires change,” Angel said.

She specializes in helping local businesses gain exposure on various online platforms including pay-per-click, social media, website development, reputation management, and so much more.

“With proper digital expertise, businesses should constantly be driving people to their website, pumping out new, qualified leads and converting them into paying clients,” Angel said.

Why is it important for businesses to be part of the digital world?

Digital has revolutionized everything. Consumers use their smartphones, tablets, and PC’s to research products and make buying decisions, so it is time to rethink your traditional marketing plans. If you want your business to be where it has never been, you have to do things you have never done. Experts tell us if a business is not online within the next year, they will become obsolete. Now is the time to ensure your business survives in the digital era.

What are the most common mistakes you see businesses making?

Failing to embrace digital; Not seeking help. Experts take care of your digital needs while you focus on what you do best: running your business; Setting up social media incorrectly, e.g., creating personal accounts with a business name instead of a business fan page. Existing/potential customers should not have to friend request a business; Businesses that “set and forget”. Like a baby, these social platforms need love. Daily posts and responding to comments within 24 hours is crucial. Addressing a complaint gives you an opportunity to turn an unhappy client into a raving fan; Not predominately placing a phone number on your website.

What is your next venture with Times-Delta?

“In addition to selling digital marketing services, I am extremely excited about the launch of my blog on VisaliaTimesDelta.com!” Angel said. Your Digital Angel is the title of her new blog, which is an educational resource for businesses, providing free tips, tools, and practical advice on digital advertising. “Marketing in the digital age does not have to be scary or overwhelming," Angel said. "I am here to be the guide-by-your-side and the Angel on your shoulder in our fast-paced digital society.”

Additionally, Angel will be teaching a class at the College of the Sequoias on February 23rd from 9 am – 3 pm titled, “How to Use Social Media to Rock Your Business” (Call 559.687.3201 to register or email asoria@timesdeltamediagroup.com for more details).
