What to Write About?

I’ve been writing my monthly column for the last 2 ½ years and try to keep my content fresh so all of you, my fabulous readers, rally back around each month.  But sometimes I suffer from this annoying thing called writer’s block.  Ah yes, I’m certain many of you have heard of this or have tangoed around with this noun.  I’m usually able to whip something up but this month has been an absolute struggle, so why not write about it?

I often times get my inspirational nudge during a workout, at church, while reading, or chatting with my peeps, but nothing has popped out at me.  So I begin to wonder, “Have I lost my writing mojo?  Why can’t I think of anything to write about?  All I need is a morsel to bring it on home, so where is it?”

I know my fellow writers, columnists and bloggers have felt the same as we battle this problem from time to time.  I thought it would be pretty entertaining to write about this experience and let you know writing an article isn’t always as easy as reading one.

This month’s issue comes out on May 3rd, which is 4 days away from my 21st birthday.  Well, slap on a few more years but I still feel like I’m 21.  So while you’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo, you’ll also be pre-gaming for my birthday, ha!  Mother’s Day is this month as well, which is 4 days after my birthday.  Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy!  D and I love you so much!

I’ve digressed to talking about Cinco de Mayo, my birthday, and Mother’s Day.  You just witnessed how the whole writer’s block epidemic begins to unfold.  See how that works?

So tell me, my lovely readers, what would you like me to write about next month?  I’ll post this column all over social media when it comes out, so feel free to write a comment and let me know if there’s something you want to know about.  If your idea is chosen, I’ll gladly hook you up with a shout-out in my column for hooking me up with a topic.  Have a wonderful May!
